A native of Escambia County, Florida, he grew up between Brewton, Jay and Walnut Hill. Fascinated with radio since childhood, he won his first radio contest in the mid 70s with legendary broadcaster Jim DeWitt as the DJ! His first job was playing classic country on local radio overnight during the summer while in high school. His rich baritone voice soon had him doing commercials and newscasts and he worked as a staff announcer for a local television station in the early 80s.

At 17, he entered the military serving double duty as a Military Policeman and Journalist. During a break in service to help care for his grandparents, he worked at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville where he protected the legends of country music for several years. He returned to finish his military career retiring after 28 years serving the nation. He has narrated dozens of training films and was on the scene covering the rescue of Captain Richard Phillips from Somali pirates in 2009.

He has worked as news director and newscaster for several news/talk stations across the nation and TV host for local cable access programs in New England. However, local radio is where his heart is.

As a combat veteran, Stu brings over three decades of experience of life and listeners to WPFL and is still captivated by the power of radio. "I could read it tomorrow, see it tonight or hear it now. I wanted to hear it now, so I fell in love with radio," he often says. We're glad he did.

Stu and his wife, Teri, met in the sixth grade. They have 3 daughters and 6 grandchildren. His hobbies include amateur radio, classic country and foreign languages. He is a licensed Private Investigator and Executive Protection Agent, a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and serves as a subdeacon in his church.
